The History of Adhesives

You may be surprised to learn that adhesives have a long history.  You may be most familiar with the fact that in 1932, Elmer’s all glue was created and has since become a household name, inspiring DIY-ers everywhere.  However, Elmer's glue was not the first glue or adhesive invented.  In fact, the history of adhesives dates back to 70,000 BC, when caveman in South Africa used a gluey substance made of tree-sap and red ochre to protect cave-paintings.

Since then, we’ve seen mankind go farther into space, require tiny microchips, causing adhesives to evolve to solve our needs. As we have done in the past, we look to nature for inspiration.
