Jindal Films Europe has released its new SealTOUGH technology, a coextruded packaging film that is intended as a replacement for lamination with layers of sealant, or mono-web layers in packaging. The company says that its new product offers puncture resistance and enhanced clarity with improved modulus and seal strength and that the sealant film will allow a 30 to 40 percent reduction in gauge, contributing to reduced materials requirements and costs while remaining recyclable.

The company reports that the new packaging film has three times as much tensile strength and twice as much resistance to puncturing and impact as traditional materials. Clarity is as great as that offered by BOPP, but seal strength is as great as that of blown PE reports Jindal.

Jindal Films will be relocating its head office to LaGrange, Georgia, and the Georgia production plant is undergoing upgrades to increase its production and product range capacity. These improvements include the addition of orientation, metalizing, coating and slitting capabilities.
