Master Bond Inc. has announced the release of its new toughened single-component epoxy, Master Bond Supreme 3HT. The adhesive was developed to meet the needs of one of its clients, but the company reports that it is suitable for use in a wide range of industries.

The epoxy can cure within 20 to 30 minutes at temperatures of 250°F but will cure within 5 to 10 minutes at higher temperatures. It can bond a wide range of substrates and is suitable for use on dissimilar substrates. In addition, it is resistant to chemical exposure, forms tough bonds, and has electrical insulation properties, maintaining bonds despite fluctuations in temperature tolerating temperatures as low as -100°F and as high as 350°F according to the company.

The adhesive is primarily being used for bonding plastics to similar and dissimilar substrates, but has also been used to bond rubber to metal. It is suitable for use across a wide range of industries and is particularly well-suited for use in the manufacture of electronic and opto-electronic devices.
