Innovative Wind Turbine Company Turns to Adhesives to Solve Engineering Issues

Green Cycle Wind has designed an innovative new turbine that will not only harvest wind from the air, but also from the air coming from the turbine’s mechanical and HVAC equipment’s exhausts. As a result, the new turbines will be able to generate more energy than conventional ones. To lightweight the turbine blades, Green Cycle Wind chose aluminum, but this meant design revisions to find a replacement for metal fasteners that were not only too heavy but prone to corrosion.

Lord Corporation, working in partnership with Green Cycle Wind, was able to identify structural adhesives that would solve the design problem and that would confer additional advantages for wind turbine assembly teams. View an article HERE about this partnership.
