Industrial Sealants – Powerful Solutions for Critical Applications

While the majority of industrial sealants have traditionally been designed to prevent leakage and contamination in applications, as industrial needs have changed, so have sealants’ formulation, uses, and methods as well as the speed of application.

Sealants cover gaps, holes, cracks or seams, prevent water penetration, serve as filling compounds, gels and putties, as well as for sealing and protecting ventilation and heating equipment.

Sealants are produced as pastes, as well as powders, liquids, and aerosols. These have a low to moderate viscosity, are quick to apply using spray guns or aerosols, and require very little cleaning up afterwards.

Pastes are applied to the surface using a gun or trowel which means more force is required during application to ensure the sealant fully adheres to the substrate.  However they take less time to set, and are much more flexible and workable. This makes this kind of sealant the preferred choice as grout, caulk and mastic for repairs on and in a house, and for use in preventing water penetration in kitchens and bathrooms.

Powerful sealants such as filling compounds, putties, and gels are used for repairing cracks and holes because of their structural integrity, a flexibility that allows for them to be easily shaped to fit the cracks and holes, and for their powerful adhesive and bonding properties.

Industrial sealants which are capable of bonding with electrical elements are able to withstand temperatures as high as 350 degrees Celsius and are ideal for sealing heating and ventilation equipment.
