Himalaya Drug Company, an Indian manufacturer of drugs and personal care products, and Avery Dennison have announced that they will be working together to ensure that liner waste is diverted away from landfills and towards recycling plants. Avery Dennison says that its work with Himalaya helps both companies to make progress toward their sustainability goals. The recycling program will divert more than 140 tons of label waste away from landfills.

Mahjan Recycle Resources has been identified as the company to receive the label liners which will have been separated from other waste and cleaned to remove any traces of adhesive. The company will then be able to pulp the waste, which would otherwise have been landfilled or incinerated, to make recycled paper products. Speaking at the announcement of the collaboration both Avery Dennison and Himalaya thanked each other for their support and cooperation in making the initiative a success.
