Tremco Incorporated Headquarters Achieves LEED Gold Certification
Tremco Incorporated has received LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for the renovation of its 40-year-old corporate headquarters into an example of sustainability. Tremco implemented changes that were so extensive that certification is for new construction and not for renovation. Many sustainable features in the renovation came from organizations that are part of Tremco’s parent company, RPM International Inc., such as sealants, gaskets, and Proglaze ETA (Engineered Transition Assembly) from Tremco Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing, which maintain airtight transition from walls to the building's new high-performance, double-pane, tinted windows. During the entire renovation, Tremco recycled, reused, or burned for energy more than 2 million pounds of debris, rather than sending it to a landfill.
