Color-Changing Sealant Technology Enhances Package Security
Chameleon is a new color-changing sealant technology from Rollprint Packaging Products designed to augment product security by shifting hue to indicate that a pouch or tray lid has been opened. "When you peel open a standard chevron pouch, there is a subtle white indicator to show that the contents have been accessed," notes Rollprint's Dwane Hahn. "What we've done is engineer a way to leave a strong visual reference with a desired color." The sealant can support many color combinations and can be applied to pharmaceutical products such as prefilled syringe packaging, as well as to medical device packaging and electronic components or valuable items where security and anti-counterfeiting is an issue.
